Breakfast at the Greenroom Café

Weekends were made for…….US!

Like most, our weekdays are stupidly busy! Working full-time and fitting in ‘everything else’ that comes with the day-to-day demands of running a: family, a home, walking a dog, going to the gym, trying to have a social life……blah, blah, blah, you know the story. As a family we are like passing ships. We often joke on a Sunday that we’ll see each other in a weeks time and it’s usually accurate. So we try to dedicate part of our weekend doing ‘something’ together. Something away from the laptop, the phones, the daily distractions and spend time catching up as a family.

We are lucky enough to live close to some of the most stunning coastal paths in Cornwall. One of our favourite things to do at the weekend is to get out for a long cliff-path walk and then stop off at a local café to refuel.

The Greenroom Café is fast becoming one of our favourite places to visit. Having recently opened in Peterville Square St Agnes, the family friendly café is already proving extremely popular in the village.

The owners Phil and Marie clearly have incredible taste! They have renovated the interior to a high standard! Their choice of décor is fresh, colourful and bright; one that makes it a really comforting place to sit, relax and enjoy your dining experience.

There is plenty of seating space both inside and out. Inside, you can choose from sitting at the huge comfy sofas (my favourite), or at the many dining tables they have available.  There is also an outdoor seating area at the front of the café for those wishing to dine alfresco. I can see this being quite popular in the summer months so be sure to book.

Menu

There is a wide selection of food and drinks to choose from. The food is freshly cooked and tastes delicious (we can vouch for that). The breakfast and brunch menu in particular is one of our favourites but I believe the lunch menu is just as good. I can highly recommend the breakfast, the waffles or the B.L.T. The crab sandwiches are also a favourite. They have ‘daily specials’ too – do check out the specials board to see what’s on offer when you visit. Food is served to a high standard here and every effort is made to ensure that it not only looks good, but it tastes good.

Finally, let’s talk coffee and cake! You know how much I enjoy a good coffee and of course a cake to go with it. There is always a selection of cake to choose from here. The only problem though, is which one to have? There is a wide range of hot and cold drinks available. Tea, coffee, juices, smoothies, just to name a few. Their cappuccino is my drink of choice. The blend of eco-friendly rich coffee is one of the best I’ve tasted.

Time to relax

What we love most about the Greenroom café is the relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Phil, Marie and their team always make us feel welcome, providing an impeccable service that makes it hard to want to visit anywhere else. The café welcomes dogs too – something that is really important to us. There is free Wi-Fi available and they are open six days a week.

So, if you are visiting St Agnes anytime soon, I can highly recommend The Greenroom Café. Whether its to sample something from their menu or simply to grab a coffee (and a cake surely 😉), I can promise you, you won’t be disappointed!
